About Us

The Athens School has a long history and deep roots in Central Kentucky. Located two miles outside of I-75, there has been an Athens Schoolhouse since the beginning of the 19th century. It began as a one-room school just down the road, then a second small school, and eventually around 1912, the first brick and mortar building was erected across from the current building which was built in 1927. Athens School was open as a public school until 2006.

Generations of folks went to school at Athens and although they may no longer live near this eastern Fayette County jewel, it remains close to their hearts.

The school is now a facility to meet, dine and gather. The school is 31,000 square feet, has plenty of parking and several acres of beautiful green space. There is room for all! We offer ideal spaces for large or small groups to gather. The Chicago room is suitable for groups up to 40 and a school gym complete with a beautiful stage suitable for presentations and performances!
